The film is based on a 1998 film The Dinner Game written and directed by Francis Veber.
When Paramount-DreamWorks splited last year both studios wanted to take the project with them. Paramount will finance most of the film with Spyglass Entertainment. However, the property is ultimately a DreamWorks film, pitching in for 33% of the funding.
Synopsis:
A publisher ask his friends to bring in pathetic guests to their weekly dinner meeting. One of the guests brings with him a man deemed with such “schmuckness” Ctx Payments that he can ruining the life of anyone who spends some time with him…
